2 Door Discovery
The rare two door discoverys have always appealed to me after owning a few blazers. They'd be supremely powered with a 200TDI or even a v6 and much lighter weight. Here's one with Rear Steer...

London to New York, By Defender
With the completion of the Channel Tunnel, it became possible to drive from London to the tip of Russia. With that crossing a possibility, it didn't take long for someone to propose the near impossible: Driving across the Bering Sea pack ice to North America, for a London to New York traverse.
Land Rover accepted sponsorship and provided 3 defender 110s and 3 mechanics as team members. They also underwrote the cost of an amphibious unit required to cross bodies of water between sea ice. The amphibious was a Kevlar made catamaran, equipped with a hydraulic pump that drove 2 stern-mounted paddle wheels. With the vehicle mounted on top, the pump was driven from the rear power take-off on the Defender. The machine was dubbed the LRPC (Land Rover Powered Catamaran).
Check out this video of reconnaissance conducted by the team to determine feasability of the crossing.

Some stills of the Defenders in the video sporting Mattracks...
A well written account of the project resides at Max Adventure, which provided Arctic base
leadership, recce advice and logistics co-ordination for the expedition.
You can find desktop backgrounds of the above two images in the right hand column of their home page.

Swing Arm Disco II Bumper
How's this swing arm Disco II rear bumper made by 4x4labs? Personally that ladder is a bit, well over sized, for my tastes but I'm digging the rest of the styling. Found on this posting for sale of the vehicle. Looks like the page is a few years old, so I wouldn't bother making an offer.

If your Disco has some time on it, your back door panel is probably attached with only a few panel fasteners. RockStar Fab makes a beautiful replacement panel from aluminium or stainless.

This G4 'Spec' Defender 110 might be diced and sliced from a million different rovers (check the county rear seats), but it offers some enhancements and it's pretty freaking cool.
It was created by Reborn, a british car restoration company in North Carolina of all places. They've got a really nice gallery of completed restorations you should have a look at.

66rover - The Elephant Chaser
rover66.com is an owners site that details The Elephant Chaser, a 1966 88" Land-Rover Series that definitely sees some trail time. I really dig the old school nature of this site. BIG background images with some text links thrown overtop.
Apparently the EC has sported a rover engine, a VW diesel and a TDI in it's lifetime. The site covers both diesel conversions with lots of photos. I always wondered how transmission adapters for engine conversions were made.
Check out the trips page, which contains a ton of rovers on the trail, even a few recoveries.

These Camel Throphy trucks pics come from adrianstomcat.co.uk, a LR enthusiast in the UK with a site full of insane Land Rovers.
The window grates on this film truck were added after the theft of camera equipment somewhere in the middle of the jungle.
How much would this disco go for in the US?
There's also a special page of his site for those Friday afternoons when your boss won't let you out early... paper Range Rover models.

Defender 110 For Sale in LA
You wish you could buy this truck. It's kitted out for expeditionary travel and proven it's worthiness by traveling around the Americas. It's ALREADY in L freaking A for god's sake. You don't even have to import it.
So what's the deal? It's a 2006 Defender 110 and it doesn't conform to NAS side impact regulations, Air bags or emissions. More about Defender importing here. And that freaking sucks, cause this is one nice truck.
What are you doing hanging around here? Go and check out the insane photography from their expeditions around the USA and Latin America.

D90 v8 Converted to TDI Diesel, Conversed To SVO
Rover Hybrids made the conversion every North American Land Rover aficionado wants... a TDI diesel and went one step further. They converted the diesel to run on straight vegetable oil. If I ever win the lottery...
Cheetah Poops Through Roof of Land Rover Defender
Forget leaks, this is the real reason not to have sunroofs on your Land Rover.
